Bill met Captain (now Major) Stuart Tulloch at his niece’s wedding. On learning that Bill was a Royal Marine Commando they chatted for a long time. On hearing Bill’s account of his days in active service, Stuart made clear to Bill the value of his story. That conversation provided the inspiration for him, at the age of 78, to enrol at a local college to learn basic computer skills, and then commit to documenting his account of his life from his earliest memory through to today.
